Information for Registered Guests of PEC 2026 On-Campus Housing

You should have received an email with your room assignment on Augest 12th, 2026. Please contact the Local Organizing Committee immediately if you have not received your room assignment.

Check-In Procedures

• Check in at the Conference Services Hospitality Information Desk: The desk is located on the 1st floor of the Survivance Building and is open from 7:00 AM–11:00 PM. Overnight on-call staff are available from 11:00 PM–7:00 AM.

• Individual check-in: Participants may check in individually upon arrival. If you expect to arrive outside the 7:00 AM–11:00 PM window, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements for your arrival.

• Guest assistance: Our team at the Hospitality Information Desk is available throughout your stay. Please feel free to visit the desk if you need assistance or have any questions.

• Parking during check-in: Parking is available in the garage levels underneath the Survivance Building. If you are parking at the Theatre District Parking Structure, please use the South Elevator, which provides the closest access to the Survivance Building. Permit is required. Please refer to the Parking section in this page about how to purchase parking during the conference.

* IMPORTANT: On-campus housing for the conference is provided directly by University of California San Diego and is available to registered participants on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. Please note that the accommodations are student apartment–style units with limited services; daily housekeeping and hotel-style amenities are not provided. Participants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of their assigned rooms and common areas throughout their stay and are expected to leave the space in good condition upon checkout. Any damages, excessive cleaning needs, or policy violations may result in additional charges or fines assessed directly to the participant. The conference organizers serve only as facilitators of the housing arrangement and assume no liability for accommodations, personal property, injuries, losses, or other matters arising from the use of university housing facilities. 

Housing FAQs:

1. Is there a bathroom and living room in the unit?

Each participant will have a single-occupancy bedroom within a shared apartment unit, with common bathroom and living spaces.

2.  Will the apartments be gender-specific or mixed? 

You will have the option to indicate your preference when booking your lodging through the registration portal. If a participant prefers a gender-specific unit, we will make every effort to accommodate that preference when assigning rooms.

3. How many bedrooms are there in one apartment?

The number of bedrooms varies by unit, ranging from 4 to 8.

4. Is there a shared kitchen with fridge in the apartment?

Yes, each unit includes a shared kitchen and refrigerator. We kindly ask participants to clean up the kitchen after each use. 

5. Is there any room that could better fit the needs of participants traveling with family?

We are currently only offering single-occupancy rooms. If you have additional housing needs, please contact the Local Organizing Committee.

From San Diego International Airport (SAN) to UC San Diego

UC San Diego is approximately 15 miles north of San Diego International Airport (SAN).

• By Uber/Lyft or Taxi — Recommended:
  Uber and Lyft are available at both airport terminals, with designated pickup areas. A ride from the airport to the UC San Diego campus typically takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis are also available at the airport.

• By Public Transportation:
  The most economical option is to take the San Diego Flyer free shuttle from SAN to the Old Town Transit Center, then take the MTS Blue Line Trolley northbound toward UC San Diego/UTC. The Blue Line provides direct service to the UC San Diego campus.

• By Car:
  From the airport, follow signs toward I-5 North. Take I-5 North and exit at Genesee Avenue, then follow signs toward the UC San Diego campus.

Conference Parking 

Conference attendees may park at the Theatre District Parking Structure, located approximately a 4-minute walk from the Natural Sciences Building.

A daily conference parking pass is available for $8. To receive the discounted conference rate, visit the “Conference Parking” section of the UCSD Transportation Service website, and click the blue “1-Day B” link, or click the link below. Please be sure to use this designated conference parking link, as the regular visitor parking rate is approximately $42 per day.

Accessible Parking & Loading: Parking Lot 101 is reserved exclusively for accessible parking and commercial loading/unloading.
