The 85th Physical Electronics Conference, featuring the prestigious Nottingham Prize Competition for the best presentation based on doctoral research, will be held at the University of California, San Diego. This annual meeting provides a forum for presenting and discussing new theoretical and experimental advances in the physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering of surfaces and interfaces. The 2026 focus topic, “Next Generation Surfaces and Interfaces,” highlights recent progress in materials development, characterization, applications, and instrumentation, while emphasizing the contributions of emerging researchers in the field. The conference will begin on the evening of August 18 and conclude on the morning of August 21, 2026.
