About the Conference
The 85th Physical Electronics Conference, featuring the prestigious Nottingham Prize Competition for the best presentation based on doctoral research, was held at the University of California, San Diego. This annual meeting provided a forum for presenting and discussing new theoretical and experimental advances in the physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering of surfaces and interfaces. The 2026 focus topic, “Next Generation Surfaces and Interfaces,” highlighted recent progress in materials development, characterization, applications, and instrumentation, while emphasizing the contributions of emerging researchers in the field. The conference began on the evening of August 18 and concluded on the morning of August 21, 2026.
